Skin concern

Serum for dull skin

Dull skin usually has two causes: a rough surface that scatters light and tone that looks uneven. Each needs a different active. Niacinamide in the morning for tone, glycolic acid in the evening for the surface.

Why skin looks flat

Smooth skin reflects light evenly. When surface cells shed more slowly, which happens with time, sun and dry air, they build up into a layer that scatters light instead. Add patchy tone, a little redness and some dehydration, and skin reads as tired even after a full night of sleep. Most dull skin is a mix of these, which is why two focused serums tend to work better than one that tries to do everything.

Morning: niacinamide for tone

The Niacinamide Vitamin Boost combines niacinamide with 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid, a stable form of vitamin C, to help even the look of tone and reduce dullness. Panthenol and glycerin keep it comfortable for daily use. Use it after cleansing and before moisturizer, then follow with SPF, since daily sun exposure is one of the main reasons tone looks uneven.

Evening: glycolic acid for the surface

Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid that helps loosen the dull surface layer, so skin looks smoother and reflects light more evenly. The Glycolic Acid Serum pairs it with bilberry fruit extract and aloe leaf extract. Use 2–3 drops in the evening on clean, dry skin. Start with a few nights a week and wear SPF the next morning.

Why the AM/PM split matters

Niacinamide should not go on at the same time as a strong exfoliating acid. Splitting them by time of day avoids that and gives each active its own window. Results build gradually. If skin stings or looks red after glycolic acid nights, space them out further rather than pushing through.

Questions

Common questions.

Why does my skin look dull even though I moisturize?

Moisturizer helps with dryness, but dullness often comes from surface buildup and uneven tone. A rough surface scatters light no matter how hydrated it is. Gentle exfoliation in the evening and a tone-focused serum in the morning address those two causes directly.

Can I use niacinamide and glycolic acid together?

In the same routine, yes. In the same step, no. Use niacinamide in the morning and glycolic acid at night. That keeps strong acids away from niacinamide and gives you a simple schedule that is easy to follow every day.

Is glycolic acid or niacinamide better for dull skin?

They work on different parts of the problem. Glycolic acid smooths the surface so skin reflects light more evenly. Niacinamide helps even the look of tone. If your skin feels rough, start with glycolic acid. If it looks patchy, start with niacinamide. Many people use both.
